The fight is already lost if there’s a fight at all, because when both parties agree to be hostile to each other there’s no room left for actual conversation about the issue and making progress on the issue.
Most homophobes and transphobes are uneducated or ignorant to the truth of LGBT issues, and as LGBT people it is our responsibility to guide them. It may be difficult at times, but it’s the sacrifice of actually granting more rights and acceptance.
There are also the people who are aggressively against LGBT people. They refuse to listen, and are likely a danger. Avoid these people. Do not engage them in real life or on social media because the more you attack them for their beliefs the more they want to stick to them.
