ok you know what im tired of arguing with people about the same shit over and over again but the one thing that y’all really need to get straight is this idea that “the LGBT community has always been about inclusion of people who are seen as different in society.” this is NOT. TRUE. the LGBT community has never been about inclusion. as ~gatekeeping~ as that probably feels for all you lithosexuals and sapiosexuals now, that’s the case. the LGBT community is not about inclusion. it is about the coming together of those who face oppression for their same gender attraction and those who face oppression for their transness (and those who face oppression for both) fighting back against the common enemy of our oppressors. the LGBT community is about fighting for our rights, surviving despite what our oppressors have done to us, mourning the ones who haven’t survived, and other serious issues that plague lesbians, bi people, gay people, and trans people specifically. it wasn’t founded on the ideals of inclusion. the first pride was a riot against institutionalized police violence perpetuated against trans and gay people, mainly trans and gay people of color.
at the end of the day if you want to go to pride then fine. no one is stopping you. carry around a sign about your sex repulsion. no one cares!!!! but don’t do it without getting educated about the community you claim to be celebrating, and definitely not without understanding your own place in it. and that’s all i’m gonna say about that.
