less misguided thinkpieces on “maybe butch is becoming a less popular identity because society is becoming ~more q***r~/less about restrictive labels/etc”, more pieces on how constant hatred of butches from within both the general lgbt community and even the lesbian community specifically actively drives self doubt/hate within butches and pushes us away from being comfortable identifying as butch

Honestly I thought it was because easier access to HRT means more folks who would’ve historically been butch lesbians are coming out as trans men

dude are you that fucking stupid that you can’t make the very simple connection between your original thought and this addition? grow some brain cells and maybe give 2 seconds of thought to how gnc people might feel pressure to id as trans or nb when they learn abt kweer theory… it happened to me and i know several lesbians w the same experience so it’s not really a reach my man!

Anyway the hatred of butches by society as well as the hostility toward them in LGBT spaces has made it hard for me, an nb lesbian, to identify as butch. The identity appeals to me and my experiences, but it feels so out of reach because non-lesbians either consider it a “reductive” identity or think butch = trans man which, historically, hasn’t always been the case. Butch people/women of the past were more often nb or gnc lesbians than trans men.
