you know the wildest thing about the Voltron fandom is that there is actual discourse about whether or not shipping a minor with a 25 year old is okay .
people actually debate this
they don’t look at it and automatically say “this is wrong and potentially harmful to younger and older viewers alike “ they reduce it to shipping wars and cower behind the “Let people ship what they want! “ curtain instead of acknowledging what the fuck they are actually perpetrating .
..if you fail to recognize that calling out pedophillia is FAR more important then stopping “shipping wars “ cause everyone deserves to ship what they want no matter how gross you can kindly fuck off
if you are someone who ships something and thinks everyone is an “anti “ for doing fucking the right thing and calling out your gross bullshit you can also, not so kindly ,fuck off .
if you are someone who says “its just a show “ to defend your BS and for some reason fail to recognize how impactful a show and its environment (like a fandom) can be to a child and how they see themselves/the world/ other people , then you are dumb as hell and can also fuck off.
Imagine being 14 and all your friends are telling you this 25 year old and 15 year old would be cute together. Imagine how scared you would be of everyone around you or even worse , imagine being a kid and thinking an adult hitting on you is okay because you believe they are nice and get along with them , its not wrong or harmful because of *insert shiro being a good guy example * . this is what you people are spreading . how irresponsible do you have to be to think your “rights as a shipper “ is more important then that.
