Nevaeh now wears a scarf to cover several bald spots and her singed
hair. She was left with first-degree burns, but it could have been worse
according to Tanya Robinson, Nevaeh’s mother.

“The doctor told me her hairstyle saved her life,” Tanya recalled. “Had it been different, she might not be here.”

This isn’t the first time Nevaeh has experienced bullying. Two years ago, another student broke her thumb.

I’m walking into that school like

Hate crime. It should qualify as one.

Nevaeh is thirteen years old. This happened at Gompers School in the Philadelphia School District. The school district has not issued any comment, but y’all can make yours:

anyways fuck america for not educating students about the aids crisis whatsoever

my drama teacher mentioned to us “most of my friends from college are dead” and I knew right away what he meant. he explained “I was a drama major in the 1980s” and still no one else in the class understood. he explained a little bit about the aids crisis, but these kids had no idea before. it is truly heartbreaking to hear about it, and especially to see it being erased.

Bohemian Rhapsody

I have finally gotten to see this film and honestly? I absolutely loved it. I implore everyone to go and see it PLEASE as it is completely worth your while, especially if you’re a Queen fan.

Rami Malek’s performance was astounding. He completely captured everything that made Freddie such a legend and it was awesome. He simply demanding your complete attention every moment that he was on screen and was an absolute diva in the best (and at times worst!) ways possible. Malek deserves all the of praise and awards possible and he was truly amazing. He was simply spellbinding and the film is genuinely worth the watch just for him.

The film didn’t shy away from his sexuality and relationships as I worried that it might. It even used the cursed “bisexual” word which so many pieces of media seem to be unable or afraid to use which has never made any sense to me. Bi erasure is a problem so hearing Freddie Mercury himself say “I think I’m bisexual” really means a lot to me and is even more important since that’s what he was! So many people forget that he was bisexual and it was very much focused on in the film. The other thing they didn’t shy away from was his wild and promiscuous lifestyle, but it did so whilst still showing how it was unhealthy and not the best way to live his life. The film didn’t try to hide this fact and I’m glad it didn’t because otherwise, it would’ve just been hiding his actual life.

As a Queen fan, this film was phenomenal. I saw things that I never thought I’d be able to experience in such detail and it made me feel like I was there at times, like I was watching them perform or hearing their new singles for the first time with the rest of the world. From seeing the early performances in tiny venues to Live Aid in beautiful, glorious HD was such an experience, boosted by the fantastic portrayals by the whole cast. The pure emotion this film made me feel was immense, I never thought Radio Ga Ga could possibly make me cry! I was just so thrilled at every little detail and mention that I knew that meant nothing to the overall story but everything to me as an overly obsessive yet joyful child who never got to experience Queen when they were at the top. This film was made for the fans and that’s exactly how it feels.

I loved every second of this film and had such a blast seeing it. It was wonderful and weird and everything I wanted the film to be. It’s amazing yet indescribable in the best possible way and I don’t think anything sums up Queen better
