every single post that says its ok to not wear makeup has like nine hundred replies saying “actually some girls LIKE the inescapable, crushing demand that they expend their money, time, and energy concealing and altering their natural features to better mimic an artificial and unattainable standard!!! leg contouring is girl power”

Holy shit. It’s not that deep. Some girls well and truly like makeup, and it’s not because of some sort of societal brainwash. You guys flip between extreme sentiments from one day to another.

EXACTLY. Makeup is an art form for many people. Changing/enhancing your features can take skill as well. Besides, even if someone only does it because they don’t feel attractive without it, isn’t this considered makeup shaming?

Pointing out that women are socially pressured into wearing makeup isn’t fucking *~makeup shaming~*. (And makeup shaming isn’t a fucking thing.)

This is you two:

“Toxic femininity” isn’t a thing. Have you ever stopped to think that femininity and masculinity ARE influenced by biology, so while not every male likes being masculine and not every female likes being feminine, there are many women who, neurologically, to their core, are feminine. The idea that something natural is toxic is inherently toxic. And you obviously are shaming by the passive aggressive tone of your post towards people that like wearing makeup.
